…may be wet but finally made its way to the gallery!
Latest work in progress—always a thrill to see the Spoonbills make their way here!
Nothing like a beautiful sunrise to remind us what a gift each new day is. Finally finished this painting whose creation started at the beginning of the pandemic last year. Pretty interesting to look back at the all the stages of this painting from month to month–some of which seem very dark–perhaps a sign of the times. As the painting evolved and carried me into 2021, it finally took on the calm simplicity of an early morning on the beach that I had intended it too. This one will be heading to Island Art Gallery later this week!
“Morning Dance”, Pastel on paper, 22×30 unframed—my work in progress…
Oh my goodness–what a birthday present! Four little chicks–honestly wasn’t to sure about it—yikes—what to do with them?! Of course it wasn’t long before I had named them all—and made them a posh little Hen House in the backyard. They truly are loads of fun—and a great subject matter for painting!!!
This is a first for my sister Carol and I —we are doing an exhibit of our paintings and have collaborated on a narrative piece as well. Opening Thursday night, September 12th, at the Bliss Gallery in Belmont NC, the show will hang for a month. Below are some images from our incredible time creating a joint piece with Holy Angel artists Chris and Amy. You will also see some images that were the catalyst and process for the “Parallel Narrative” mixed media piece Carol and I did together using our fathers old Rand McNally maps!

Happy to have participated with Artfields this past Saturday as a plein air artist! Both of these paintings were done in the beautiful pathway to The Inn at the Crossroads in Lake City, SC and found a forever home that day.
