Happy to say that my submission “Dance of the Dragonfly” has been juried in to the South Carolina Watermedia Society’s 45th Annual National Exhibition at the South Carolina State Museum. Just updating to let you know it was voted in to the Traveling show and received the Member’s Award recognition! It will be on display at the South Carolina State Museum until January 2023. I will have prints available soon, send me an email if you are interested in ordering one in time for the holidays! kellyatkinson001@gmail.com.

Just finished this commissioned piece for a precious couple that have been faithful clients for years. Thankful to all those patrons who have made it possible for me to continue doing what I love and for your continued support for Island Art Gallery in Pawleys Island, SC!
I was honored to have “Harvest Moon” juried in to the MOJO Art Festival this year at the City Gallery in Charleston, SC. Seeing it along side some incredible works of other artists I know and admire was awesome. If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit Charleston during this annual event mark you calendar for next year—it is well worth the visit!
Just a few paintings that are now on display at the Williamsburg Hometown Chamber in Kingstree for their annual Art Show. Also perfect timing for the upcoming 25th Annual Running of the Kingstree Trials on November 6th, 2021. (Tickets for the event are available for sale through the Chamber office) You can also see some of my prints for sale there throughout the year as well:)
Nothing like a beautiful sunrise to remind us what a gift each new day is. Finally finished this painting whose creation started at the beginning of the pandemic last year. Pretty interesting to look back at the all the stages of this painting from month to month–some of which seem very dark–perhaps a sign of the times. As the painting evolved and carried me into 2021, it finally took on the calm simplicity of an early morning on the beach that I had intended it too. This one will be heading to Island Art Gallery later this week!
“Morning Dance”, Pastel on paper, 22×30 unframed—my work in progress…
Oh my goodness–what a birthday present! Four little chicks–honestly wasn’t to sure about it—yikes—what to do with them?! Of course it wasn’t long before I had named them all—and made them a posh little Hen House in the backyard. They truly are loads of fun—and a great subject matter for painting!!!
